Bank of England Base Rate held at 0.75%

The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee have voted unanimously this week to maintain the Bank of England Base Rate at 0.75% which has been set at this rate since August 2018.

Much of the MPC’s notes from the meeting focused on the increased Brexit uncertainty, with the Committee noting that “entrenched Brexit uncertainties and slower global growth have led to the re-emergence of a margin of excess supply”.

The MPC will next be meeting on 7th November 2019.
